Sunday School Lesson:

PERSONAL LESSONS

SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON #9

This is the original download I received prior to Sunday's session. The words matter less than the energy that is behind these lessons. Channeled wisdom is a full dimensional experience. I suggest reading these downloads like poetry or looking at fine art. Take it in on any level that matters.

Personal Lessons

Personal lessons are important in light of things surrounding your journey.  They employ the right circumstances despite your best efforts to askew them.  They are cunning little rats that follow you everywhere you go.  They aren’t nice necessarily to you, because they are so personal.  They want you to learn something, despite you. It’s in your best interest to make friends with them. There is no avoiding them -ever.

I remember the first time I really spent time with a personal lesson.  It was autumn and I was sitting under a tree, minding my own business, or so I thought, when a bear came into vision in the distance. I knew right then, that I was in trouble. I was standing below an apple tree. The only tree in the open field.  The bear looked hungry. I had two choices. Run or hide.  I chose to run and try and beat a black bear. Now, wisdom would tell me that is a bad idea. To try and outrun a black bear. But, fear told me another story. The bear did run after me. But stopped at the tree to eat first. I bet well that day. But I easily could have lost.

Most decisions we make are like that - there is some inherent risk in either choice.  We make a best guess and live the with the consequences. That’s life people say. We make these truths to self-evident.  That all choices are created equal -distance from truth or fail. We kind of have a 50/50 chance of winning or losing most of the time. That is the risk and reward of life’s choices.

If you are trying to figure out how this relates to your personal lessons- the fact of the matter is that figuring out your lessons is of prime importance. That takes a life review every now and then.  Looking back to see the cause and effect of each choice.  No need to make a narrative around it. Just notice what the theme’s are.  Notice what seems to plague you personally.  Where do you continue to struggle? Where is your ball always getting stuck, and you have to pull it out -again and again?  What gutter in life do you need to unplug - a lot?

If you notice a pattern - write it down. Take note of these little patterns.  Find the thread among them if possible.  Ask yourself if this is a problem area? What are the long slow burns- the big nagging obvious but hard to solve issues?  What can I change now if I wanted to?  Can you distinguish between the two- or is it all a conglomeration?

Identify, identify, identify.  Catch yourself mid- section in one of them - and ask yourself why is this coming up- again?

Where do we begin solving personal lessons?  In tandem with life. As we unravel the onion of time and space of our lives, we can begin to see threads of existence that are handleable.  That aren’t fun. That need change. That are characters at large in your life that need some changing.  We need to know where to pull on these strings for best effect.  How they affect the gestalt.  How they interact, let go, or betray other characters in the act.  We have these little personality quirks, and some are helpful, most aren’t really that helpful. Some can stay and some should go.

Which ones.  Why and when are up to you. They are personal lessons after all.

Post Live Stream Notes

This is my first Sunday School Lesson from San Francisco.  It’s a bit of a hard video to hear - I had on a white noise machine to keep the city noise down -but it interfered heavily with the audio. So it’s not an easy listen.  Here are a few highlights from what I could understand.

Two months in a row I have had technical issues recording the live lessons. It feels like a sign that being live to hear the downloads is of prime importance. I will keep recording but, please try to be present!

This session was I realized my favorite moment in my week.

Being in the presence of God.

Surfing in this gratitude

I can look at this scape that is not beautiful

I would rather be nowhere else in this moment.
